STORIES WANTED - I have been approached and asked about a new book being written called 'When I was in the Navy', The book will be a selection of short stories written by you! Yes You! the author wants your funny jack stories so that he can include them in the book which is to be published later this year.
If your stories is used in the final print of the book you will be given full acknowledgement and a free copy of the book to keep and use as a door wedge. You might even want to read it, who knows.
Stories can be adult humour, funny, sad, or just jack banter, they must however be real or as real as you can get without singing the theme tune to Jackanory as you write it. The story must be yours to tell or at least have the subjects permission to use the story. If you can't get this permission change the name of the subject so that we can't get sued by him/her.
Don't worry if your not the next JK ROWLING, the author has a team of shadow writers that will 'embellish' and rewrite the story to suite the books style. Of course the main story, topic and punch lines will be left in to make your story real.
Stories should be about 15 minutes of reading or there about. no limit on words or pages, just a good laugh or chuckle is required when reading the story. Send your story as a word document for consideration.
The idea of the book is to tell the world about life at sea and what it was like living on ships, subs, shore bases. We need to capture the essence of jack to emphasis the true camaraderie that we all share to this day.
